For the 2024-2025 school year, we are proud to report approximately $3,500 was awarded to mini-grant recipients! Our mini-grant program allows staff members the opportunity to submit a written proposal for PTO to fund a specific project to enrich student learning and achievement in classrooms.
Some of the grants awarded include:
- a classroom podcast station aimed to enhance student writing with real world applications
- science kits to allow hands on learning specifically targeting 2nd grade science standards
- March "Book" Madness- popular books were purchased for students to read and vote for favorites- exposing students to a variety of texts while also encouraging students to enjoy reading
- Cooking Lab materials for students to participate in project based learning aligned to science standards with real world applications
- Earning My Way Through First Grade consumers and producers math and social studies project
- CTAE Little Engineers supplies- the incorporation of Duplo LEGOs to help students in PreK-1st grade develop problem-solving, motor, and early math skills through building and experimentation.
- CTAE "Makerspace Mornings" materials
- support materials for students receiving math, reading, and writing interventions
- mobile PE equipment to be used at each grade level recess

2025-2026 Mini-Grants
The River Eves Elementary PTO is excited to offer mini-grants again this year.
We encourage all teachers and staff to apply.
Purpose:
To enable teachers and staff to provide supplemental enriching academic projects, innovative approaches and creative ideas that are not supported by the current school budget.
Amount:
Grant award is expected to be $500.00 or less.
Timeline:
- Week of 08/25/25 Applications available
- 9/26/25 Applications due (Applications will not be accepted after this date)
- 9/29 – 10/3/25 PTO Mini Grant committee reviews applications
- 10/3/25 Applicants notified
- 12/12/25 Money spent and reimbursements submitted
PTA Mini-Grant Committee:
A committee consisting of PTO members, school administration and PTO Board members will meet to review each grant application. Please feel free to contact VP of Academic Enrichment Christie Kessler should you have any questions.
Eligibility/Stipulations:
- Mini-grants are available to all teachers and staff who have joined PTO.
- Teachers and staff may submit an individual or joint proposal.
- Mini-grant applications must be complete, legible and submitted on time for consideration.
- A pricing budget (including shipping cost if applicable) is required for a mini-grant to be considered.
- Mini-grant funds cannot be used for students not directly serviced at River Eves.
- Mini-grant recipients should use their funding by 12/12/25.
Judging Criteria:
- Potential to improve student achievement
- Creativity of project or innovative approach
- Number of students who will benefit
- Potential for continuation and/or replication
- Cost effectiveness and realistic budget
- Potential to enhance instructional skills
Project Accounting:
If awarded, recipients will submit receipts directly to the PTO Treasurer for reimbursement.
Please note: Requests for field trips, websites, apps, magazines, or subscriptions cannot be funded through mini-grants.
